Jon Hartman, Technical Visionary
Technology should be fun, as well as functional. I’ve worked on Mac and Apple products and services every day for more than 20 years, and I still love it. So much so, it launched me into a career of helping others enjoy Apple technology as much as I do.
I built my skills, starting as a Mac Specialist, in the Corte Madera Apple Store, educating and supporting new Mac users and those upgrading to the latest innovations in Apple gear. I learned early that listening to people made it possible for me to suggest the right technology for their business or personal use. I think it’s the reason customers always come back to me.
I moved from Mac Specialist, to Creative, becoming one of the first trainers placed in this esteemed position worldwide. I spent 4 years working with individual customers and businesses to setup their technology, teaching them how to use their products, and supporting them when things didn’t go as planned. Before leaving Apple, I became the Lead Creative where I took on the responsibility of managing a team of 35 trainers and technicians.
Using Knowledge and Technical Solutions to Educate
Through all these positions, my focus was to ensure that I, and my team members, possessed the knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate great educational interactions and technical solutions for all of Apple’s customers and staff. I found that the best team members were the best learners and enjoyed sharing their knowledge.
In my time as an Apple employee, I learned something about myself, too. I like direct interaction. There’s nothing like seeing a customer’s face light up when I successfully trouble shoot an issue, setup a new system or teach them time-saving advantages of a new app. When you “get” how easy and fun it can be, it makes my day!
Who I Like to Help
My enjoyment comes from when I see a mom, who has struggled to download and organize her photo collection of the winning team, find a workflow to make it easier; or when an entrepreneur sets up their first office and all of their devices sync seamlessly with my help.
I see it in the eyes of a grandmother who learns to text for the first time and the guy who finally unravels the mystery of his passwords, from his Apple ID to his iCloud account. I feel their enjoyment.
That’s why I left Apple to start Option Click Consulting. Why not make your technology more fun to use, enabling you to save time and money, and be more productive with your Apple technology? I look forward to helping you learn.
